ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCT SPECIALIST – NYC – Roofing & Waterproofing Products
Architects/Design Professionals are you seeking opportunities to use your experience and education in a new role with a well-respected industry leader?
Highly respected Industry Leader has immediate opening for a qualified individual with experience in roofing, waterproofing, or exterior restoration construction materials in the NYC market area.
Siplast is a well known industry leader in the development and manufacture of premium roofing and waterproofing systems for the commercial, institutional and industrial construction industry. The company’s offering includes roof membrane systems, insulation systems, waterproofing membrane systems, and liquid applied fluid waterproofing systems and a complete line of allied accessory items. This is a sales/marketing position working with a team of professionals in the NYC market area.
Successful candidates must have proven career experience working with architects, consultants, engineers, and building owners and must reside in the NYC metropolitan area. (No relocation assistance is available for this position.) This position reports directly to the District Sales Manager.
In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize and expand your talents in:
• Product promotion of premiere roofing, waterproofing and accessory products through specification efforts to major owners, architects, roofing consultants, and roofing contractors.
• Management of Siplast applications, and training of contractor crews.
• Development and maintenance of a quality select roofing contractor and lightweight contractor program, based on knowledge of contractor business, general market knowledge and active involvement in local trade organizations and activities.
• Technical services, including development and/or review of roofing specifications for prospective jobs, participation in pre-job meetings, periodic job/rooftop inspections (in progress, final, two year, as required) and basic troubleshooting.
• General administration including timely completion of administrative reports (job quotes, shipping forecasts, call reports, activity reports, etc.)
• Develop & monitor sales budget & forecast for territory, as well as expense management.
• Work with Technical & Corporate Support Staff to research & resolve customer concerns
• Developing a thorough understanding of the Commercial Roofing Products Industry

The successful candidates will possess:
Five+ years prior architectural experience in a roofing or waterproofing discipline REQUIRED
Self disciplined and motivated (initiative)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Professional image & demeanor
Proven ability to establish long term business relationships
Confidence, aggressiveness, tenacity and resiliency
Effective time management skills
Solid communication skills – both verbal & written
Sales ability & persuasiveness
Face to face sales call experience
Independence/ability to work on own
Ability to travel as necessary (minimal travel outside geographic territory)
Must have (and maintain) a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
Ability to drive car and travel (as necessary), without assistance (may be extensive during the first year of training)
Ability to climb ladders, work with heights and demonstrate roof applications
Visual acuity to perform inspections, read computer screens, documents, etc.
Manual dexterity to perform data entry, filing, and site inspections
Ability to hear and speak on the phone
Ability to bend, pull, and reach to perform filing functions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (booth, sample boxes, etc.)
